It's a lively march-past of sine and square waves, an eructation of robust poops and parps from the flatulent dawn of electronic processing. The Improving Inglenook is what Fell calls a 'free rhapsody' compiled from the clashing and clanging church bells of Great St. Mary's in Haverhill, Suffolk. This tribute really manages to capture Coltrane's spirit. The improvisations on Coltrane's compositions are all excellent and so is the opener track which is inspired by Coltrane's work but not one of his compositions. Absolutely worth listening!
