Bruce's Fingers photo

Hello, I'm Simon Fell. In addition to being a bassist, improviser and composer, I've been running the Bruce's Fingers record label for 30+ years. Since we deal in obscure and non-commercial music, it's never been that easy to keep the label ticking over - but recent developments in digital music have made things even more challenging. If you're interested in what we do, you might like to take advantage of a new Bandcamp scheme designed to help artists and labels bring a little more stability into their creative lives.
(N.B. If you don't really have time to read all the text that follows, please just skip to the 'technical note' at the end; reading it will probably save time later.)

The Bandcamp Subscription Option means that for an annual fee you get:
(a) All the music we release now on for free (you can choose either digital only, or digital plus physical - see below). This will also include digital versions of any back catalogue and deleted items which we subsequently add to our Bandcamp page (and there are a lot of those still to come).
(b) A free 'subscriber welcome package' of 5 digital albums from the BF catalogue.
(c) A 30% discount on all purchases of physical albums, if they're not covered by your subscription (e.g. if you're a digitial-only subscriber, or back-catalogue albums released before you became a subscriber).
(d) The satisfaction of knowing you’re supporting us in a sustainable way. This is a Bandcamp phrase, but it really is true. This is a really concrete way in which you can help us continue producing the music that has led you to be reading this in the first place.

Subscription prices are per year, and are very roughly based on the amount of material we release on average (and giving you a healthy discount on the back catalogue). Since 1983 we have included 145 albums in our catalogue; so we did a bit of number crunching, and here's what we came up with...

digital-only subscription: 20€ per year
For this extremely manageable contribution to our continued creativity you will get free digital copies of all new albums from now on (where we have the rights to digital sales), plus all back catalogue releases we subsequently convert to digital form. You will also get a very helpful 30% discount on any physical releases you decide to order, and the 5-album 'welcome pack'.

digital + physical subscription: 47€ per year*
For this noteable-but-reasonable contribution to our continued creativity you will get free digital and physical copies of all new albums from now on (in whatever formats they are available), plus digital versions of all back catalogue releases we subsequently convert to digital form. You will also get the very helpful 30% discount on any back catalogue physical releases you decide to order, and the 5-album digital 'welcome pack'.
[*because of extra shipping costs on physical items, there's a 2€ per year surcharge for subscribers from outside the European Union/Switzerland.]

Perhaps this is starting to sound a little complicated. But the main point is simple - all the music we make, for a very modest annual payment. Plus our eternal gratitude...

TECHNICAL NOTE:
If you don't already have one, the subscription process involves setting up a (free) Bandcamp 'fan' account; you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a link that you will need to click in order to confirm and set up your account. If you don't get to the end of this process, for whatever reason, your subscription will not be activated (and you will not be charged). But you do have a 7-day period to activate before your card authorisation expires, after which you'll have to go through the payment process again.

[If you definitely prefer not to have a Bandcamp account, or wish to avoid any such technical interactions if at all possible, please e-mail info@brucesfingers.com and ask for a 'manual' subscription.]
